National Conference

We are very proud that a Croydon Teacher has become the first Croydon member in 47 years to become National President of NASUWT.  (The last time a Croydon teacher was president was in 1961 when Harry Bell was President).

Mandy took up office on Easter Monday at the Annual Conference held at the ICC in Birmingham.

Our newsletter 141 had some photographs but you can find more photographs and the text of her Presidential Address on this website.

March of the penguins

Did you notice the penguin on the latest newsletter?  Look carefully and you will see that all the Croydon Delegates are wearing penguin badges (as is Director, Peter Wylie).  Mandy has a fondness for penguins and they became something of a mascot at the conference.

One photo shows Local Secretary preparing to present Mandy with a stuffed penguin on behalf of the Sutton Association.

The pay award for September is 2.45% on everything (Leadership, ASTs, TLRs, SEN points etc) except that there is some enhanced pay for teachers in Outer London (i.e. Croydon).  On the following table those figures in italics represent pay increases in advance of 2.45%
